10.00 - Completed and Suspended Games


10.01 Regional Tournaments Completed and Suspended Games.
(A) Suspended Games: All incomplete games shall be continued from the exact point of suspension.

(B) Completed Games:

(1) If a game is called for any reason it is a regulation game: if five (5) or more innings have been completed with one team ahead, or if the home team has scored more runs in four (4) or four (4) and a fraction half-innings than the visiting team has scored in five (5) completed
half-innings.

(2) Freshman and Rookie Division If a game is called for any reason it is a regulation game: if four (4) or more innings have been completed with one team ahead, or if the home team has scored more runs in three (3) or three (3) and a fraction half-innings than the visiting team has scored in four (4) completed half-innings.

(C) Mercy Rule:

(1) Major and College Division. During play in any 9 inning regional tournament game, a team reaching a ten (10) or more run lead over another team in any completed inning after the completion of at least seven (7) complete innings (or in the case of the home team reaching an ten (10) run lead in six (6) or six (6) and a fraction of halfinnings) shall be awarded a victory. During play in any 7 inning regional tournament game, a team reaching a ten (10) or more run lead over another team in any completed inning after the completion of at least five (5) complete innings (or in the case of the home team reaching an ten (10) run lead in four (4) or four (4) and a fraction of half-innings) shall be awarded a victory.

(2) Senior, High School, Junior and Sophomore Divisions.
During play in any regional tournament game, a team reaching a ten (10) or more run lead over another team in any completed inning after the completion of at least five (5) complete innings (or in the case of the home team reaching a ten (10) run lead in four (4) or four (4) and
a fraction of half-innings) shall be awarded a victory.

(3) Freshman and Rookie Division. During play in any regional tournament game, a team reaching an eight (8) or more run lead over another team in any completed inning after the completion of at least four (4) complete innings (or in the case of the home team reaching an eight (8) run lead in three (3) or three (3) and a fraction of halfinnings)
shall be awarded a victory.

(D) Length of Games:

Major Division 9 (7) innings* Junior Division 7 innings
College Division 9 (7) innings* Sophomore Division 7 innings
Senior Division 7 innings Freshman Division 6 innings
High School Division 7 innings Rookie Division 6 innings

* The length of games shall be seven (7) innings for the first three (3) rounds of regional play in the College and Major Divisions. Remaining games will be nine (9) innings under the double elimination bracket schedule.

* The College and Major Divisions when participating in a Round Robin format at the Regional level only play seven (7) innings in pool play and nine (9) innings in the semi-final and final games(s).

10.02 World Series completed and Suspended Games.

(A) All Major and College games must be played until a minimum of nine (9) innings have been completed. (See exception in note)

NOTE: During play in any 9 inning World Series game, a team reaching a ten (10) or more run lead over another team in any completed inning after the completion of at least seven (7) complete innings (or in the case of the home team reaching a ten (10) run lead in six (6) or six (6) and a fraction of half-innings) shall be awarded a victory.

(B) All Senior, High School, Junior and Sophomore games must be played until a minimum of seven (7) innings have been completed.

(C) All Freshman Division games must be played until a minimum of six (6) innings have been completed.

(D) All Rookie Division games must be played until a minimum of six (6) innings have been completed.

(E) All incomplete games shall be continued from the exact point of suspension.

(F) In direct seed World Series tournaments, the mercy rule in Rule 10.01(c) shall apply in pool play only (not in bracket play).
